Council continues talks on proposed dog ordinance
No decisions were made at the Logan City Council meeting Nov. 24 regarding changes to the present dog ordinance. At the last meeting, Ron Placek had requested the council revisit the ordinance. He asked all pit bulls be banned from town and no grandfather clause used. The council reviewed the ordinances Placek provided at the last meeting that are being used in various communities in the area.

Woodbine High School ninth grader Alexandria Tschudy was notified the week of Nov. 3 she would be traveling to China through the People to People Ambassador Program in the summer of 2009 to represent Woodbine and the U.S. as a student ambassador.

Crazy Christmas Days
Logan businesses will be rolling out some crazy deals Dec. 6. And shoppers that get out that day will have a chance to win a free turkey. The Chamber of Commerce is again sponsoring Crazy Christmas Days where shoppers can get an early jump on the holidays and support local business in Logan. "This will be a great day to be out shopping," Logan Chamber President Nikki Allen said.

City employees Ralph Pauley, Joe Book, Jason Peterson, Paul Marshall and Jeff Blum took time to get the Woodbine Christmas tree in place on Fifth and Walker Streets. The tree was transported from the Harry Otte residence on Linden Drive. It was in the early 1980’s when Jim Niedermyer served as city clerk the annual Christmas tree was placed at its current location. Niedermyer also built the city’s first tree stand. Woodbine elementary students will be adding their handmade decorations to the lighted tree in the afternoon on Dec. 4. Photo by Nikki Davis
